What We Are Reading...
The adult Sunday School class was reading Pastrix: The Cranky, Beautiful Faith of a Saint and Sinner by Nadia Bolz-Weber (2013). It's a challenging and enlightening memoir of one Lutheran Pastor journey to the pulpit via the Lutheran emphasis on Christ's grace.
We are now beginning They Like Jesus but not the Church (Kimball, 2008) for the Lenten Season. Kimball explains how the church needs to reach out to younger people, especially non-Christians if we are to remain true to our mission to go into the world and share the gospel. You can learn more about Pastrix at http://www.pastrix.com/ Even though we are no longer reading the book as a group, you may contact Pastor Melissa to discuss this or other titles.
